Question about Astro A40s.?

I had the Turtle Beach X4 Ear Force Headset about a week ago and highly enjoyed it. Then I heard all the great reviews about the Astros and decided to buy one. I just received one and have been using it throughout the day. However, one thing I noticed is that the bass is not very strong. The X4’s had amazing bass. But I was also using a connection through the optical input. On the Astros I only have just a normal connection. So, I am just wondering would getting a optical cord make that much of a difference. Because right now this sound is mediocre at best. Then again, I have only played one game and it might just be the game. I have been playing CoD:WaW. Some sound effects are great but things like grenades arent. I heard that you can hear people across the map. Not so much. Maybe you have to have an optical connection to hear that? Anybody know?

Update drivers and reinstall.

yes you can. if its not picked up automatically you can use a program called xpader to map keys to the buttons

all the games i have work with the xbox pad. some pick it up automatically like gta4 and batman arkham asylum. fps on the pc is a mouse and keyboard job though. all games for windows live (GFWL) pick up the xbox pad
