Master hogger, master artist, sub6 reveals his inner thoughts and feelings. MSPaint? Compared to Photoshop, no contest. And snow moose? That's a new one. MSPaint replies here at ET.TV are welcomed following this interview.

TreeFrog: What does “sub6” mean?
sub6: Well this Nick all started back when I used to have my turntables (before I sold them for tuition) and was smoking a whole lot of weed at the time. I have a 12" of "sub6, who needs love songs", arguably the best PsyTrance album ever made. I figured the name looked appealing so went for it.

TreeFrog: How long have you been playing competitive gaming? How long have you been with hubris/n3m?
sub6: I started competitive gaming a while ago back when Tribes 1 was a big game and made the transfer into Tribes 2. I was extremely successful in Tribes 2 and met a few people that were in 51>> Through it (HomerPF, Method, Techlogic, Silken to name a few). I installed the ETQW Beta way back then but didnt have a good enough Video card. Once I blew $150 on a Nvidia 8600 GT around the time the demo came out, I started taking this game allow more serious, alongside with Chump who I met through 51>>, him and I both joined n3m, who timely lost a few players to WoW(so I am told). I think winning TGL season 1 with them was the main reason I decided to take this games competition to a higher level. After n3m didn’t even notice we won that season, and didn't seem to give half a shit, this was the start of Hubris basically and the rest is history. We had more sponsorship from TGL prizes in Combat Arms and Quake Wars summer tourneys than n3m ever considered giving us.

TreeFrog: What is the secret to consistently making forum threads that get at least 1,000 views?
sub6: I am kind of a big deal; I openly make threads and say things about people or topics no one else will. A lot of people thrive on that kind of shit and it gives them all an opportunity to express their opinions about it with me taking the heat.

TreeFrog: I know mainLine defeated you guys recently in STA. But it was the regular season. Are you guys looking forward to a playoff rematch?
sub6: I think it’s going to take a lot of effort on our part to actually want to put out the effort we used to around Season 2. Not to take anything away from mL, but I think they see this as an opportunity to have us at a huge lack of interest and catch us off guard. I am told they are well practiced and prepared, scrimming hours and hours a night. While we are off paying COD4, COD5 Zombies/Tribes 1 or 2/ or something else to pass the time. With this kind of dedication, I'd be surprised if they didn’t win.

TreeFrog: What’s your opinion on former mainLine player, raccoon?
Well I played against him a couple times and didn't think he was that big a deal. I am not very sure as to what his situation was to get banned. But, cheating in a video game fucks it up for everyone else. Be legit or go play Counter Strike. He got what he deserved.

TreeFrog: Who the hell is Transpo?
sub6: Chump, I didn’t know this was a secret.

TreeFrog: Exactly what is Hitstick’s story? He appears every now & then, and tries to act like you.
sub6: You could say Hit_Stick(Jordan Oldham) is my right hand man. He's stuck it out w/ me for years playing just about whatever game I hopped on. Granted, he isn’t a pushover and is a great addition to the team. His inactivity pretty much grants him the bench, but is a good sport about it.

TreeFrog: Let’s say you were in the Hog. And on the other end was Donkeydong, in another Hog vehicle. Both of you guys drive headfirst at each other. Who would survive?
sub6: Simple, I would. Maybe a lot has changed since I've been absent but I've never seen anyone hog like I can. I think Centipede and I head to head would be a good match.

TreeFrog: Who’s better in a heavy vehicle: M4ximus or Fishstix?
sub6: LOL. M4x has managed to do the dumbest shit w/ a MCP, Armadillo, APC, Desecrator, and his latest accomplishment, the Lacerator. We truly don’t know what position to have him play anymore. So the answer would probably have to be Fishstix.

TreeFrog: What is the key to dodging a shielded Hog?
sub6: Well at first I didn’t really want to expose everything I know about hogging (most of it not really being a huge secret), and how to make sure the tank is at a disadvantage. But it’s not knowledge that gets it done its execution:
There is a split second moment right before the Hog rams the tank, gets it down to 1% health then does a 1080 varial into the air that the tank gun can fire through the shields and make the shields practically useless. Given Latency and reaction time it’s not exactly easy to do. (fyi I made up a shield placement that this tactic doesn’t work with, so it won’t work against me. I’d be willing to share this with other hoggers if they are willing to PayPal $10.50 to sockeee@hotmail.com)
Tanks are ALWAYS better off being able to sway left and right in a Hogs path. It’s actually really easy to juke a Hog because a hogger has to commit the direction they are going or the ram won’t do enough damage. Overall, the Tank has the advantage all the time. But every tanker I've ever gone against doesn’t have the awareness to make it relevant.

TreeFrog: After all these seasons of ET:QW, has there been a player you have a grudge against?
sub6: I thought about it, and the only person I have ever looked at negatively is that one SS guy who clearly cheats but wont dish out demos in his defense when it is asked of him. SirDark?

TreeFrog: What does a normal in-game conversation on the Hubris Ventrilo sound like?
sub6: Well, where do I start? Ray is 100% serious business whistling more than any human being should ever whistle. Chump is usually pretty quiet but when he does talk he is telling Max to quit pushing out or telling Rowdy how horrible he is. Ras is probably the mildest of the bunch, just doing his part and calling out incomings, soft brushings of his pony tail can be heard. Max is accusing every single player who outguns him of cheating, twice. He gets pretty mad too (throwing mice against his wall, slamming keyboards, etc). Rowdy repeats these timeless slogans: "Dude." "How did that not kill him?" "Yeah, ok.", If he laughs, it means he did something extremely stupid. If I put on my serious pants, I am usually as rude as possible telling everyone what they are doing wrong.

TreeFrog: How has your World of Warcraft experience been?
sub6: Well, WoW is a different kind of game. I enjoy the Player vs Player aspect of it because it’s less carpel tunnel and more logic and reaction. Yes, I have raided before granted it’s the only way currently to upgrade certain pieces of "gear". No, I don’t like it because it’s one hell of a process, but Blizzard sure did make some complex and tactical boss fights which can be enjoyable. It’s one of those games that is so easy to hate on until you actually play it for a week, gathering spider egg's and such.(Jordon and I got Chump to play it for a little while)

TreeFrog: Have you ever come across Fate’s Sublim3 while playing World of Warcraft?
sub6: Jordan and I have talked about finding his whereabouts and making his life a living hell. But I don't have a clue where to start to find him.

TreeFrog: Have you ever taken any real life art classes? If so, how did you do?
sub6: I make excellent pots and sculptures of small people w/hats.

TreeFrog: How are your Photoshop skills?
sub6: Photoshop is an extremely limited and simple program. You simply cannot get the small details and effects you can from MSpaint, from Photoshop. (Horrible)

TreeFrog: Would you ever go to Quakecon?
sub6: I almost went to the last one, I had a spot on FATE, but I just started a new, well paying job and decided to not risk losing it. It looks like one hell of a time though.

TreeFrog: How has real life been?
sub6: Great, I've been working out 4-5 days a week. Seeing a cute little thing named Tiffany who dresses up like a pony for me when things get hot and heavy, and writing music here and there touching up on my guitar skills.

TreeFrog: Favorite non-hubris ET:QW player?
sub6: BMXer and Disease have always been cool to me, cHiOs and Pokemans are good conversation about music and Seanza is a Swedish gay.

TreeFrog: Favorite weapon?
sub6: Lacerator, I could pretty much take anyone down with that thing back when I would LNA 1 v 1 daily (granted the Hog isn’t a weapon).

TreeFrog: Favorite person to harass on the forums?
sub6: Just about everyone who sets themselves up for it. I think M4ximus would be the best answer for this though.

TreeFrog: Is it possible to pick up girls by saying you play competitive ET:QW?
sub6: No.

TreeFrog: Raccoons or Ponies?
sub6: Snow moose.

TreeFrog: Where is Sharp?
sub6: http://med-billings.org/etqw/sharp.jpg

sub6: I just want to give all the Hubris guys mad props for being one of the most skilled group of guys I've ever played alongside with. Yaaaflow, wherever he went. Hit_stick of course for being one hell of a friend, Prophet, Disease my old d00lz partner, Greased Scotsman, Mattc0m and the whole ETTV Crew, only good material comes from there, and most of all those who took a ban protesting my previous forum ban. If I forgot your name and you feel you deserve a shout out. Simply give yourself a pat on the back.

Well, it's about damn time! Nice work. That's the most we've heard out of sub6 since December, at least.

I'm guessing Tiffany and Jordan are actually the same person but have been unable to confirm this.

GJ FROGGIE!

Nice history lesson. Is this guy still relevant to the etqw comp scene? M4xipad & Clump are the only hubrats maintaining their 1337ness with daily workouts. Slack6 even has M4x doing his mspaints for him.

Hubris is handing this season's STA title to mL unless they put this little pony out to pasture for good. No team wants a burned out gamer with carpal-tunnel issues. Get-a-long little doggie. I mean, pony. We enjoyed watching u prance your way into our hearts. GL

Finally, seems like you've been working on this thing forever.

Not a bad interview, though I would like to have known what the hell is a snow moose.

I was expecting this or atleast a picture of that fish-shaped candy that he showed me one time.

This is by far your best interview yet, Froggy. It was interesting & enjoyable.
